Urban Field
Website design and illustrations for urban design studio Urban Field
Overview
Urban Field, an urban design and landscape architecture studio, needed a refreshed identity and website that reflected their design ethos and roots in the Bay Area’s urban ecosystem. Their existing visual presence didn’t fully communicate their unique vision or illustrative storytelling.
The Problem Space
As part of the SuperWorks team, I was responsible for designing the website and creating a cohesive brand identity package (logo, illustrations, stationery) to ensure brand consistency across every touchpoint.
Illustration I made of the wonderful team of founders outside their Oakland office.
My Contributions
Working closely with my team, I focused on:
Website design: Crafted a horizontal-scrolling website in Squarespace, implementing animations and custom CSS/HTML to uphold brand fidelity.
Illustration: Drew 20 custom illustrations that highlight key aspects of Urban Field’s work and its urban context in the Bay Area.
Brand Identity: Built the brand identity and designed business cards for each founder
Result
We designed a horizontal-scrolling website with the client, which nods to their work in urban design and landscape architecture.
I created a set of 20 illustrations that communicate the client's brand identity. The illustrations focus on Urban Field's partners and the Bay Area's urban ecosystem, where the studio is based.
Brand identity that conveys the feel and value of the firm.
Business cards for each founder!
Following the launch of our client's new brand identity and website, I was selected to continue working with Urban Field to design 3 successful urban design proposals, as well as an InDesign template.
Reflections
This project was an amazing opportunity to craft a unique brand identity for a creative firm. It was really rewarding to learn from and collaborate with my teammates, as well as convey our client's story and brand through illustrations and visual design.
